When it comes to PCs they aren’t all alike.  Facts are that when you purchase a PC from any of the leading PC manufacturers you will be sold hardware from that specific run at that time.  In the many years of repairing system I have witnessed first hand multiple units from one manufacturer with the exact model number, name and case, but open them up and they look extremely different in the inside! 

How are these machines so different?  Manufactures generally plan an assembly run and purchase hardware from the lowest bidder (not necessarily the best hardware choice) available and place them in that same model number or name, whatever is cheapest at the time may end up in your PC. 

Another cost-cutting method which is used by the large manufacturing companies is partnering with software companies to have their products installed on your PC at the point of sale.  All of those 60- day trial pieces of software, free browsers, and free software tools installed on that PC were free to you, but the PC manufacturer charged the software companies to place them on your PC.  This allows manufacturers to keep their costs down when they sell their computers.
